Instructor
Sensei Yaseen started at Karate Academy UK since its inception in 2012 as an assistant instructor under Sensei Aamar.
Sensei Yaseen started his journey in 2009 and was graded for a black belt (Shodan) under Sensei Gurmit Singh in Goju-Kai karate-do in 2016. Later, he was graded to second dan (Nidan) in Goju ryu karate-do by Sensei George Andrews under Karate Academy (TOGKF) in 2022.
His development under the traditional Okinawan system of Goju ryu led him to be successfully regraded to 2ndDan (Nidan) in Japan 2024 by the following grading panel; Sensei Koei Teruya 10th Dan, Sensei Masataka Muramatsu 10th Dan, Sensei Ryoichi Onaga 10th Dan, Sensei Masanari Kikugawa 10th Dan, Sensei Tokimitsu Minei 9th Dan, Sensei Seiei Hirata 9th Dan and Sensei Toshiro Fujioka 8th Dan.
Sensei Yaseen is eager to continue to expand and deepen his knowledge of karate and learn from some of the best instructors from the lineage of Chojun Miyagi.
Sensei Yaseen believes that the skills he gained throughout his karate journey have helped him to progress and excel in his studies. The concentration, determination, and self-discipline instilled by karate have been vital in enabling him to pursue a career in medicine.”
As a dedicated medical clinician working in general practice, he has always been passionate about the well-being of his patients. Through his karate journey, he gained a deeper understanding of the importance of physical fitness and its overall effect on ones health.
“Karate has taught me the value of discipline, strength, and maintaining a healthy body”
I aim to help reduce the risks of chronic conditions such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and diabetes in my community both inside and outside my clinics, empowering individuals to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.
While my studies have always been important, my desire to become a more complete karateka has remained ever-present. I believe that karate has complemented my academic pursuits, instilling in me focus, drive, and determination. A true martial artist embodies the concept of ‘Bun Bu Ryō Dō,’ balancing the mastery of their craft with a commitment to lifelong learning and intellectual growth.”
