Assistant Instructor
Sensei Wasti began his training at the age of 10. After a childhood of burning interest in fighting and martial arts, he was able to experience it himself, for the first time, in 2015. At first his focus on training was misplaced, however within a few months Sensei Aamar guided him and taught him self discipline, and he quickly gained respect for what he learnt in the dojo.
Karate has helped Sensei Wasti stay active and build physical and mental strength. Over many years of training, he has gained confidence in his fighting ability and in himself. Around halfway through his journey to black belt, Sensei Aamar encouraged him to try his hand at teaching. This gave him a unique experience of public speaking and dealing with younger students. After some time of learning and adapting, his teaching improved and this experience boosted his public confidence and taught him valuable lessons.
Sensei Wasti believes one should have a skill in life that they pursue to the best of their ability. For him, this is karate – a skill he is very fond of and proud to undertake. It has helped him grow into the person he is today, and he is constantly learning new things which he enjoys passing on to the next generation of students. In his own words, “teaching perfects what you know, and uncovers what you do not”.
Currently studying at University College London, Sensei Wasti plans on pushing his career into STEM, specifically Physics and Engineering.
