Senior Instructor
Sensei Arun first started training at the age of 8 years old under Sensei Harvinder Sagoo in the style of Shotokan Karate.
Staying only a short while with Sensei Harvinder he then changed path and began training at a local dojo in Southall under Sensei Gurmit Singh in Goju Kai Karate.
Training twice weekly, over the many years of hard training, commitment and determination Sensei Arun successfully passed to Shodan-Ho (Black Belt) in 2006. Shortly after he was graded for his Shodan (1st Dan Black Belt) and passed in 2010.
This was just the beginning to his Karate path. Having the opportunity to attend earlier sessions allowed Sensei Arun to observe, coach and teach younger students. Sensei Arun has gained invaluable skill of teaching, something which he describes that can only be done through practical experience. Sensei Arun says, “at first, I found the task of teaching daunting and overwhelming but over time with continuous persistence and guidance I began to flourish and enjoyed teaching, it’s something that eventually became second nature to me.”
Teaching over the years has allowed Sensei Arun to further increase his knowledge and passion in the art of Goju Ryu Karate as well as being able to help students grow in confidence and further expand their abilities in Martial Arts.
In 2016 Sensei Arun moved to Karate Academy UK and began to further his knowledge by training with Sensei George Andrews. In 2019 he successfully passed Sandan (3rd Dan Black Belt). Sensei Arun has continued to teach many individuals including: children, teens and adults to better enhance their skillset and understanding of Karate and prepare them for their journey in life. By keeping up with his regular training, Sensei Arun advanced to the grade of Yondan (4th Dan Black Belt) in March 2023. Sensei Arun’s goal is to give back to the future generations of students the knowledge, wisdom and experience he has gained so that they may also reach and inspire to one day pass this down.
Sensei Arun looks forward to increasing his wealth and knowledge in the art of Goju Ryu and challenging himself further to reach a higher standard and level through his robust training.
In his daily profession, Sensei Arun works for a Chartered Accountancy Practice in London, having studied Accounting and Finance at University and graduated with Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Accounting and Finance. His confidence gained through his Martial Arts training has allowed him to converse and have professional interactions with his clients daily.
